NRA/USA Shooting/CMP Coach Education Program

The Coach Education Program, under the Education and Training Division of the NRA, offers both basic and advanced technical and tactical skills coach training schools for rifle, pistol, shotgun and high power rifle along with training camps and clinics. Training reflects the latest in coaching philosophy and presentation methodology along with the most up-to-date techniques and competition tactics necessary to help you and your team achieve your goals.

The Coach Education Program is a cooperative effort of the major competitive shooting organizations in the United States, the NRA, USA Shooting (USAS), the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) and the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). The NRA is the governing body for many domestic shooting sports programs and administers the Coach Education Program. USAS is the National Governing Body (NGB) for the Olympic and International shooting sports in the United States. The CMP is a federally-chartered not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to train U.S. citizens in marksmanship and firearm safety, with a particular emphasis on youth. The ATA is the governing body for American-style trapshooting.

The Coach Education Program continuously strives to provide outstanding coach education and athlete training that provides a high-quality experience to every shooting athlete. A high-quality experience is one in which every athlete:
  • Is coached using up-to-date training principles
  • Learns the skills, tactics and strategies of the sport and improves as a shooter
  • Has fun shooting
  • Feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance
  • Learns "life lessons" that have value beyond the range
We recognize that the coach is the one who most directly makes this all possible. It is our goal to provide every coach with the tools to be successful. We are committed to creating a positive environment in which coaches, athletes, parents, officials, and fans work together to achieve our mission in the shooting community.

Asian Shooting Confederation
E-Coaching & Tutoring Service

ASC has launched its E-Coaching and Tutoring Service. This is the first such initiative in the ISSF Shooting Sports using the internet and professional E-learning software to deliver coach education and tutoring in the Air Rifle event for the benefit of all ASC Member Federations, their coaches and shooters.

The service is being delivered by Mr. Anton Belak (SVK), a well-known, successful and widely respected world class rifle coach over the last 20 years.

The service is provided on two levels – the basic level accessible to all via the ASC www link and a more advanced, password protected level (incorporating e-tutoring) that will be accessible only through your National Federation (limited to ASC member Federations only) who will make an application to ASC for the necessary registration and password.

In addition to the articles and advice contained in both levels of the service, Mr. Belak will be hosting regular programmed e-tutoring coaching sessions with registered coaches using the internet. This interactive service will allow in-depth analysis of techniques and supporting skills to enable coaches to develop their shooters into world-class and medal winning performers.
ASC fully supports this radical initiative and encourages all National Federations to take advantage of the service provided and to submit their nominations to ASC. Places will be strictly limited on ‘a first come, first served’ basis across as many Federations who wish to participate.

The ASC Executive Committee will be carefully monitoring the initiative over the coming months under the guidance of a supervisory technical panel. It is intended, if all goes well, that the service will be expanded in the future to other events and disciplines.
ASC therefore welcomes your comments and feedback via HQ ( asc@asia-shooting.org).
Interested coaches are asked to apply directly to their National Federation for endorsement and registration with ASC.
